The government has decided on compensation for the increase in the natural gas price also for those households that receive heating services with the involvement of an intermediary, who is a legal or natural person, such as managers, project developers, owners. State aid is provided with the help of these intermediaries, if it has submitted an application to Latvijas Gāze. Thus, state aid can also be received by apartment buildings, the owner of a row house, manager, project developer, where natural gas is used by households within the framework of mutual contractual obligations.

Changes! 

From October 2022, applications for receiving state aid must be submitted on the customer portal. If you do not have Application for state aid section available on the customer portal, send the following information to valstskompensacija@lg.lv:

  • name of the company/ name, surname with which the natural gas sales contract was concluded
  • registration number/ personal code
  • address(es) that qualify for state aid

Period and amount of the state aid

  • Compensations will be applied for the period from July 2022 to the end of April 2023.
  • It is possible to apply for the state aid during the entire application period, but not later than April 30, 2023.
  • the state aid is intended for households that use natural gas for heating and have an average consumption of 221 kWh (21 m3) per month over a 12 month period.
  • From 1 July 2022 to 30 November 2023, the state compensates a reduction in the fee of natural gas in the amount of 0.03 euro per kWh (without VAT).
  • From 1 October 2022 to 30 November 2023, the state is additionally compensating for the fee reduction in order to bring the natural gas market (agreement) price equal to the regulated natural gas price, which is 0.10875 euros/kWh (without VAT).
  • From 1 December 2022 to 30 April 2023, the state is compensating for the fee reduction in order to bring the natural gas market (agreement) price equal to the regulated natural gas price - 0.07875 euros/kWh (without VAT), which does not differ between natural gas traders.

Conditions for receiving the state aid

  • The aid is applied only to household consumption!
  • Meter readings must be submitted every month. For the calculated consumption, the aid will not be applied until the actual consumption is corrected!
  • The contractor must submit a separate application for each object.
  • The application for the current month can be submitted from the 27th date of each month until the second working day of the following month at 12:00 p.m.
  • The application for the previous months can also be submitted outside the reporting period of meter readings. In this case, the fee reduction will be applied to the next invoice, making the necessary adjustments.

Applications received after 04.04.2023 will be included in the next invoice for April 2023, which you will receive in early May 2023.

We ask customers to be responsible and provide accurate consumption data, as this will be compared with the information available from the distribution system operator Gaso. In the case of data mismatch or false information, the aid may be refused or cancelled!

Please note that according to the regulatory framework, State aid is applicable for the natural gas price ABOVE 0.07875 EUR/kWh. If the natural gas price on your invoice is below this price threshold, no aid will be granted.

Please note that the aid period is until 30 April 2023!

Please note that we will not be able to accept applications submitted after the end of the aid period (after 03.05.2023). 

ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS REGARDING THE GRANTING OF STATE AID

When can I apply?

You can apply for the state aid by submitting an application for the relevant month at the end of each month. If the application for state aid compensation for the relevant month is submitted after the last day of the month, the fee reduction shall be applied to the next invoice, with the necessary adjustments made. In order to avoid making corrections in the invoices, we encourage you not to delay and to fill out the application every month, the last period for applying for the aid is April 30, 2023. We will no longer be able to apply the fee reduction for applications submitted after this date.

How will the state aid be calculated for July and August?

Fill out one joint application for July and August until September 1, 2022 (including), you will see a fee reduction of EUR 0.03 for each kWh (without VAT) for the actual consumption of both months in the August bill, which you will receive at the beginning of September 2022.
