At the end of the year, during the modernisation of the payment system, Latvijas Gāze services will be partially available

At the end of this year, we will perform the final transition to the new self-service customer portal and billing system, which involves a large-scale customer data transfer, thus completing the modernisation of the IT system, which was launched to ensure the independence requirements of the Energy Law.

Due to the modernisation of the IT system, the customer portal mans.lg.lv will not be available from 18:00 23 December until 23:59 29 December 2020. Conversely, from 28 until 30 December, remote customer consultations will not be provided by phone or e-mail.

During this time, our website will continue to provide online services for households, such as contracting and bill payment (please use the MAKE A PAYMENT option). However, contract applications and payments will only be processed once the modernisation is completed.

In turn, this month, we ask you to submit meter readings on the customer portal from 30 December 2020 to 4 January 2021. You can report meter readings by sending an SMS in the specified formator on the GASO customer portal as well.

Form 30 December, we will be awaiting our customers on the portal again, while the remote customer consultations will be renewed on 4 January 2021.

As a result of the modernisation of the IT systems, everyone will have access to a new customer portal mans.lg.lv, where the payments and the submission of the meter readings are more convenient to carry out, as well as to check out the information regarding payments and reports.

We have already expanded the possibilities of payments in the customer portal by providing the possibility to pay using the most popular internet banks and payment cards. We have also introduced a new service – MAKE A PAYMENT option, indicating the address, so it is possible to pay a bill of another customer, such as your parents or grandparents.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused during the implementation of the new billing system and appreciate your understanding!

Climate-friendly fuels – what to choose in the future?

In order to choose the most suitable alternative fuel for a climate-neutral future, during the life of the vehicle, it is essential to consider emissions from the entire fuel extraction, production and consumption cycle, not only the direct emissions of the vehicle.

When analysing different types of fuel, several important factors shall be taken into account: energy efficiency by transferring primary energy resources into motion, overall environmental impact, and the availability of the resources. It is most important to use the well-to-wheel principle for comparison between all types of vehicles, i.e., to cover the entire fuel production chain, not just the environmental impact of fuel consumption in a car.
