The Cookies Policy of JSC Latvijas Gāze (hereinafter - LG) shall specify the purposes of the use of cookies as well as the right of the visitor to change and choose the use of cookies according to their needs and interests. In cases where the collected personal data is processed, LG shall play the role of the controller. Cookies are small text files, used by your electronic device (computer, mobile phone or any other device), which are sent to your device while visiting a webpage, and which the webpage saves to your device when you open the page. During each next visit cookies are sent back to the home webpage or to any other webpage recognising the cookies. Cookies operate as memory of the particular webpage, enabling the page to remember your computer during following visits; cookies may remember your settings or improve user convenience.

Session or temporary cookies
They are stored in the device memory and exist only until you close the internet browser of the device, i.e., stop using the internet (cookies are deleted). These cookies help LG websites to identify how the user of the relevant device moves from page to page, remembering the actions taken on the previous page, and ensure the security and basic functionality of the website. Session cookies are not stored on the device's hard disk, nor do they collect information from the device. The use of session cookies is stopped at the end of the session of the web browser of the device, as well as in cases where the session has not been active for a certain period of time.
Persistent cookies
They are saved on the hard disk of the device and are not deleted when you close the web browser of your device. Persistent cookies identify you as a user of our website, and later, when you return to the website, they help to remember information about you and the actions you have previously taken on the website. Cookies are stored on your device for a certain period of time, depending on the type of cookie. This type of cookie is used, for example, to analyse the number of users of the website, the average time spent in the relevant section of the website, as well as how you got to the website and how it is used. When analysing the obtained data, it is possible to make improvements to the operation of the website.

Necessary (functional) cookies - are essential for you to use the opportunities provided on our websites, to identify you, and access the website securely; they allow the LG website to remember your choices, thus improving and personalizing the website, as well as providing the basic functions of the website. Statistics Cookies - collect information about how you use the site, such as which pages you have visited, how fast the pages were loaded, which links you clicked on and whether the links lead to a working page (including helping to differentiate users). Marketing Cookies - collect information about the website user’s habits and creates a user profile. These cookies are used to serve ads that are more relevant to your interests and to analyse data flow, as well as contain social media cookies that allow you to share content on social networks. LG uses third-party cookies such as Google, Facebook, LinkedIn to create ads and optimize marketing communication. Third-party advertisers use cookies stored on your device to evaluate the effectiveness of the ad and to personalize the content of the ad displayed to you. The information collected by third-party advertisers may include data, such as geographic location data (derived from an IP address).
What kind of cookies, on what basis, for what purposes do we use, and for how long?
We use necessary (functional) cookies based on LG's legal (legitimate) interests, and statistical and marketing cookies based on your consent, in order to:
- take care of the operation and security of the website and online services, for example, make the website easier for you to use, and protect it from fraudulent activities;
- make the website and online services more convenient for you by analysing how you use our pages, what services you use and what services you are interested in, so that we can improve them;
- offer you interesting content and services on social networks, mobile applications and other websites.
Unless otherwise specified, cookies are stored for the duration of the activity for which they were collected, and afterwards they are deleted. The storage period of cookies or their validity period is specified in details in the description of each cookie, which is available in the information notice about the cookies used on the website.
Storage, restriction and disabling of cookies
When visiting a website, a message is displayed stating that the website uses cookies. By placing or later removing a specific set of cookies, the visitor can save or disable his/her consent to the use of certain types of cookies. A visitor can change his/her preferences or restrict the use of cookies in the footer of the website at any time by activating the "Cookie settings" link. By clicking "Confirm all/Confirm checked", a visitor confirms that he/she has read the Terms of Use of Cookies, incl. information about cookies (types of use, purposes of use, involvement of third parties, etc.), as well as agreed to certain settings for the use of cookies.
Please note that the security settings of any web browser allow you to restrict, block and delete cookies, for example, in the settings you can check "Never accept cookies". A visitor can also change his/her browser settings so that the saved cookies are deleted every time the browser is closed.
