Final Guaranteed Supply service
The supply of natural gas within the framework of Final Guaranteed Supply is only a temporary solution in cases where the consumer or owner does not have a valid contract with a natural gas trader.
Continuity in the supply of natural gas to households is not only a convenience for consumers, but a safeguard mechanism included in the Energy Law, and is designed to ensure the reliable, affordable, and high-quality supply of natural gas to consumers. In situations when a supplier chosen by the user has discontinued the sale of natural gas and the consumer has not been able to conclude a contract with another service provider, the supply of natural gas to households shall be provided by the public supplier within the framework of FGS. FGS for households is provided by Latvijas Gāze.
For FGS users who have not signed a contract within 6 months, the price of natural gas will be 2x higher
In accordance with the amendments to Cabinet Regulation of the Republic of Latvia No. 78 ‘Regulations Regarding the Trade and Use of Natural Gas’, the natural gas consumer may receive natural gas at the standard price for a period of six months from the date of the notice; after that period, if a contract has not yet been concluded, the price of natural gas will be 2 times higher.
These regulations stipulate the obligation of the consumer to enter into a natural gas trade contract and the liability of the owner for the settlements if the contract has not been entered into or has expired. There are often situations where natural gas supplies within the framework of FGS are misused and the contract with the trader is not concluded for a long time. To avoid this and to ensure a competitive, secure and sustainable natural gas market, these rules oblige consumers to settle their obligations with the natural gas trader in a timely manner. If the consumer does not conclude a contract within 6 months, the price of natural gas will be doubled.
We urge you to sign the contract as soon as possible!
It is most convenient to conclude the natural gas trade contract with Latvijas Gāze electronically. After completing the application online, the contract will be sent to the e-mail address specified in the application.
If you conclude the contract by the 15th of the current month, the contract will take effect from the 1st of the next month. However, if you conclude the contract starting from the 16th of the current month, the contract will enter into force on the 1st of the following month.
It is most convenient to conclude contract electronically.
