State aid to the manager or owner of an apartment building

In order to reduce the impact of increase in the price of energy resources, the government has decided to compensate the increase in the price of natural gas not only for residents, but also for consumers in buildings where the contract with the natural gas trader is held by the building manager or another legal entity. The state aid can be received by the owner, manager, project developer of multi-apartment residential buildings, terraced houses, where natural gas is used by households within the framework of mutual contractual obligations.

State aid can also be granted to the owner or manager of a residential building if natural gas is used by households. Aid is not available for commercial users.

In order to receive the aid, the contractor with Latvijas Gāze (manager or building owner, not the resident of each apartment) must fill out an application form. The state compensates a reduction in the fee of natural gas in the amount of 0.03 euro per kWh (without VAT), if the average monthly consumption in a 12-month period is from 221 kWh (21 m3). The amount of aid per apartment must be calculated and applied by the owner or manager of the building.

The compensations will be applied for the period from July 1, 2022 to April 30, 2023.

It is possible to apply for state aid during the entire period of aid application, but no later than April 30, 2023, however, we encourage you to submit an application for the relevant month at the end of each month, in order to avoid corrections to the invoices. If the application for state aid compensation for the relevant month is submitted after the last day of the month, the fee reduction shall be applied to the next invoice, with the necessary adjustments made. Apply for the aid!

If you qualify for aid, you must have a reported reading of the calculated consumption; aid will not be applied until the actual consumption has been adjusted. We ask customers to be responsible and provide accurate consumption data, as this will be compared with the information available from the distribution system operator Gaso. In the case of a data mismatch or false information, aid may be refused!
