“JSC Latvijas Gāze has confirmed the lowest tariffs for households in the last 12 years starting from 1 July. The natural gas tariffs have not been this low since 1 October 2008. Natural gas tariffs are being reduced following a decline in the global purchasing price of natural gas. We are pleased that clients of Latvijas Gāze will experience this guaranteed price reduction in a regulated market, because unlike other distributors, we are a public trader that is obliged to supply natural gas at a price fixed by the Public Utilities Commission (PUC),” says Chairman of the Board for AS Latvijas Gāze Aigars Kalvītis.
The tariffs approved by PUC foresee that the natural gas tariff will decrease by 8.3 % if the annual consumption of natural gas is up to 250 m3 or 5269 kWh. Whereas households using natural gas for heating and whose annual consumption of natural gas is between 500 and 25 000 m3 or 5 269 – 263 450 kWh will see the biggest reduction in the natural gas tariff, and for these households the tariff will decrease by 13.5 %.
