For natural gas users with an annual consumption of up to 263 450 kWh (25 000 m³) tariffs are changed twice a year — on the 1ˢᵗ of January and the 1ˢᵗ of July.

We accentuate that the tariffs applied by distribution system operator JSC Gaso changed on the 1st of January 2019 – the tariff now includes two components – a fixed part and a variable part. The fixed part will depend on the permitted maximum load, whereas the variable part will be based on the natural gas consumption, as it was previously.

New tariffs from 01.07.2019. until 31.12.2019.

  • The amount to be paid is rounded up to euro cents.
  • The tariffs for households are determined on the basis of a unitary actual gross calorific value - 10.538 kWh/m³. The calorific value is the amount of heat that can be obtained by fully burning one cubic metre of gas.
  • The price of natural gas is linked to the oil fuel (with a sulphur content of up to 1%) and diesel (with a sulphur content of up to 0.1%) price/quotation index FOB ARA (Free OnBoard Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp) on oil exchanges and the euro and the American dollar exchange rate set by the European Central Bank. When there are changes in the fuel oil and diesel quotation (taking into account the actual 9 month average quotation) and exchange rate ratios, the tariffs approved by the Public Utilities Commission (Sabiedrisko pakalpojumu regulēšanas komisija) are applied accordingly.
  • The service of final guaranteed supply to households complies with valid tariffs.
