Who will receive state aid?
In order to reduce the impact of the increase in the prices of energy resources, the government has decided on compensation for the increase in the price of natural gas for households with an average monthly consumption of 221 kWh/month (21 m3/month) in a 12-month period, that have a contract with Latvijas Gāze, and for users who receive natural gas within the Last Guaranteed Delivery service (LGD).
The state aid provides that the state compensates the reduction in the amount of EUR 0.030 per kWh (without VAT) for the price of natural gas.
How can customers make sure of whether they are entitled to receive aid?
Household customers do not have to apply for the aid; the fee reduction will be granted automatically and will be visible in the payment documents sent by Latvijas Gāze. The state aid for July and August will be visible in the invoices issued in September. The reduced price of natural gas can be found in the invoice details under Product/service name Dabasgāze (Natural gas). Additionally the amount of state aid granted for the current month will be indicated.
Readings must be reported monthly!
It should be noted that during the aid period, meter readings should be submitted monthly from the 27th of the current month to the first working day of the following month. In addition, the distribution system operator Gaso may carry out a physical inspection of the gasified objects and check the meter readings. If the meter readings are found to be falsified, the state aid will not be applied.
