At the end of the calendar year, Gaso (distribution system operator) recalculates the tariffs according to the actual annual consumption of the user. If the volume of natural gas consumed during the year is higher or lower than the previously determined tariff, the recalculation is made for the entire previous year.
At the 19 December 2023 meeting of the Council of the Public Utilities Commission, new tariffs for natural gas distribution system services for the tariff period from 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2024 were approved. The tariffs will enter into force on 1 January 2024 and will be visible in the bills received in February 2024 for natural gas consumed in January. The fixed payment and the variable part, depending on the consumption of natural gas, of the new distribution operator Gaso, will be shown in the bill details.
In 2023, in the Top 101 of Latvia’s Most Valuable Enterprises, jointly created by financial services company Prudentia and Nasdaq Riga, Latvijas Gāze was recognised as a leader in its sector, taking 2nd place, and was ranked the 16th most valuable enterprise in Latvia, ranking four places higher than in 2022.
Latvijas Gāze is ranked 20th in the Top 101 of Latvia’s Most Valuable Enterprises, jointly developed by Prudentia, the leading Baltic corporate finance company, and Nasdaq Riga, the only regulated stock exchange in Latvia, and this year it is recognised as the second most valuable company in the energy sector in Latvia.
The tariff changes are due both to the increase in natural gas prices on global markets and to a significant decrease in the volume of natural gas delivered to users, which has had a significant impact on Gaso's operating results.
The Joint Stock Company “Latvijas Gāze” and the Latvian branch of "OP Corporate Bank plc" have agreed upon an early termination of the credit line (overdraft) contract signed on September 22, 2017.
