How do you report meter reading?

The fastest and most convenient way to report meter readings is via the customer portal. You can also report the meter reading to the distribution system operator GASO.

You have three options for reporting meter readings:

  • Via the client portal
  • On our website with your subscriber or contract number
  • GASO customer portal
  • By calling Gaso to the number 67369938
  • By sending a text to 155, containing the following: RAD A00000000 Readings
Enter the market name of your site (can be found in the client portal and in the invoice) instead of ‘A00000000’.
Enter the meter readings (full cubic metres only) instead of ‘Readings’.

I cannot report meter reading. What do I do now?

I cannot report the meter reading during the period of submission.

The meter readings can be reported on specific dates each month – from the 27th of the current month until the 1st working day of the following month. In this case, we will issue a bill based on the consumption calculated by GASO. Provide the actual meter reading in the next submission period, corrections will be made automatically for the previous period as well and will be reflected in the next bill.

I am trying to report the meter reading both in the customer portal and on the website, but it shows a system error, and that the reading data is currently unavailable.

Make sure you have a valid agreement with us. If the agreement is valid, the following message is displayed if a technical problem has occurred, and we do not receive meter reading data from GASO. In this case, try to report the readings on the customer portal later or report them via SMS. Detailed instructions for reporting readings via SMS are available HERE.

I want to report a lower meter reading than GASO calculated, but the system calculates a very high consumption, which is not true.

This is because the readings have not been reported for several years and the system assumes that the meter has come full circle, therefore it calculates a high consumption. In this case, contact GASO (via e-mail info@gaso.lv) and inform them about the actual meter reading. If GASO makes a correction to the meter reading, we will include it in the bill and prepare a recalculation.

If you report such a reading on the Latvijas Gāze customer portal or website, then, depending on the situation, you will see different notifications:

  • The reading is not accepted, and an error message is returned: “There have been no readings recorded at the object for more than a year. To report a meter reading, please contact the distribution system operator GASO.”
  • The reading is not accepted, and an error message is returned: “The consumption between the entered reading and the previously reported reading exceeds the maximum allowable consumption of the meter.” In this case, contact GASO (via e-mail info@gaso.lv) and inform them about the actual meter reading.
  • The reading is not accepted, and an error message is returned: “The entered reading must be equal to or higher than the control reading recorded during the inspection”.
  • The reading is accepted

Previously, I had mistakenly entered a higher reading than the actual one and I cannot correct it to a lower reading.

The meter reading reported on our website for the current month can be corrected by yourself while the reporting period is open. After this period, only the distribution system operator GASO can correct the reading you have submitted (send an e-mail to info@gaso.lv)

Meter readings are not accepted by e-mail or telephone.
